OGP Nigeria third National Action Plan Presentation


OGP Nigeria third National Action Plan Presentation Nigeria Open Government Partnership led by Prince Clem Agba, presented Nigeria's co-created third National Action Plan on 25th May, 2023. 

This was done at the NAP III inaugural meeting at the HMS Conference Room in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. The presentation was done along with other activities which include: Appreciation/Presentation of Awards to Outgoing National Steering Committee members, Inauguration of the third National Steering Committee, Launch of some OGP Secretariat products (the OGP Nigeria Website, OGP Nigeria e-Newsletter and the OGP Naija Mobile App). During the launch, Prince Agba stated that the products were to help citizens connect and interface with OGP implementation in Nigeria "The products are online and are available for public use" he added.

The meeting also served as the last engagement for the second National Steering Committee and particularly for the Outgoing State Actors Co-Chair, Prince Clem Agba, who is leaving office as the Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning. In his farewell address, Prince Agba expressed his gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve,  " I want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for the opportunity to serve the country in the capacity of the OGP State Actors Co-Chair" he stated. He also thanked the Outgoing Non-State Actors Co-Chair, Dr. Tayo Aduloju of NESG, for his unwavering partnership and the patriotism he exhibited during their time together as Co-Chairs.

In his remarks, Dr. Tayo Aduloju who was represented by the Non-State Actors Co-Chair, Mrs. Obialunanma Nnaobi-Ayodele, highlighted some achievements, challenges as well as lessons learnt from Nigeria's implementation of NAP I and NAP II. He stated that the political leadership Nigeria enjoyed under Prince Agba brought alot of positive results and helped enrich OGP implementation in Nigeria, "we owe him a depth of gratitude" he added.

The meeting was also attended by the OGP Global CEO, Mr. Sanjay Pradhan, who joined virtually via zoom. In his remarks, he recounted Nigeria's OGP achievements under Prince Agba's leadership. He mentioned the Eyemark, the Beneficial Ownership Register, the COVID 19 Economic Round Table, among other ground breaking achievements recorded. He went further to express, on behalf of OGP Global, his gratitude and appreciation to Prince Agba for his valuable contributions to OGP Nigeria.

The meeting also saw the announcement of Alhaji Garba Abubakar, Registrar General of Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission, as the Acting State Actors Co-Chair; pending the appointment of the Minister of Youths and Sports Development who will take over as the State Actors Co-Chair.

The third National Action Plan is set to be implemented within the next 2years, the document is available on the OGP Nigeria website (ogpnigeria.gov.ng).
